Alkaline Diet Fights with Diseases


The balance of pH level or the acidic and alkaline level is necessary for overall health. The normal levels of alkaline are 7.365. It is believed that up to some extent our blood is alkaline and its levels vary from 7.35 to 7.45. So out food should be according to these levels.
But due to the changing food habits we have started taking acidic foods. The acidic foods cause chest inflammation, acidity and damage the liver and kidneys. In such cases the alkaline diet is very beneficial.

What is pH Scale?
It is a scale that measures the acidic and alkaline levels. The levels below 7 means that there is acidity in the body, while the levels above 7 is a sign of alkalinity. 
The alkaline diet affects the pH levels in the body. The imbalances of pH levels cause bad effects on health. So the aim of the intake of alkaline diet controls the levels of pH in the body. 

What is an Alkaline Diet?
Alkaline means non acidic or basic medium in the body. The diet is of two types the one is acidic while the other is basic or alkaline. The acidic diet consists of fried or baked foods, polished lentils or pulses and fast food. The increase of acid automatically reduces the levels of alkali in the body. 

The optimum balance of acid and alkali in the body is in the ratio of 30 to 70 respectively. The levels of acid should be 30 % in the body and the alkalinity should be 70 %. The increased levels of acid are reduced by alkaline diet. 

Why Alkaline Diet? 
The medical advice is needed for alkaline diet in case of diabetes, constipation and heart problems. But any healthy person could immediately start taking an alkaline diet. It is an ideal diet for children and aged people. 

What is an Alkaline Diet?
In such a diet one can take fruits, milk and sprouted pulses or grains in breakfast. The dry fruits should be soaked overnight in water if they are to be taken in breakfast.

Take lunch at least 4-5 hours after breakfast, which should include 2 green vegetables, bread or chapatis containing bran, curd or raita. 

The juice or soup of green vegetables could be taken in the evenings. 

Take dinner at least 2hours before going to bed. The dinner should contain lentil or pulse, salad and bread. The curd or buttermilk should never be taken in dinner.
