The health benefits of the Flowers of Rhododendron or Burah

The flowers of evergreen Rhododendron tree are popularly known as Buras or Burah in India. The leaves of the plants are used to prepare organic fertilizer, while the wood is used to make agricultural tools and furniture.

The tree of Rhododendron arboretum belongs to the family of Ericaceae in plantae kingdom.

It is the state flower of Himachal Pradesh, the province of India.   

It is found in the Himalayan region in spring at an altitude of 1500 meters. The blood red flowers of

Burah may not be beautiful, but are very attractive and have several health benefits. Though the flowers appear in white and pink shades, yet the red ones are full of medicinal properties.

The juice of red flowers contains rich amounts of poly fatty acid and helps the body to maintain the proper levels of cholesterol.

It is used for heart problems, high blood pressure, lever disorders and pain in bones. It increases the red blood cells and is good in anemia. It replenishes the deficiency of haemoglobin in the body.
